Charlie started his first job at the age of
16. He worked on a farm in
Powell, Ohio caring for livestock. He also worked part time
at the
Olentangy Caverns as a tour guide. After High School he went
to work for
Magic Seal in Columbus, Ohio, where he ran a paper cutting
machine. His
job at Magic Seal allowed him to pay his way through an Electronics
program at
what is now the Devry Institute.
At the age of 21, the year he was married to
Robin, he started his first job
in his professional field. He worked for three years at
Production
Measurements as an Electronics Technician.
In 1974, while his first son was two years
old, and his daughter was on the
way, he left Production Measurements and went back to school.
He spent his
three years at OSU working three part time jobs to provide for his
family and
his tuition. In 1976 he started a small electronics
consulting firm
named Morrison and Associates.
His first two children attended their father's college graduation.
In 1977, he then went to work for Toledo Scale Systems. He
worked for
Toledo Scale as a field engineer for two years installing and starting
up industrial scale and batching systems before he went to
Scientific
Columbus as a electrical power transducer engineer.
He worked for Scientific Columbus until 1981
as an Engineering Manager.
He left Scientific Columbus and Incorporated his electronics consulting
firm as
Morrison Electronics, manufacturing industrial LED
displays and
Electronic control systems. He
changed the name of his Electronics Company in the early 90's to
American LED-gible
Inc.
